JOURNAL POLICY & DATA PROTECTION

Privacy Statement

Privacy • Scholarly Publishing • Journal Data

Amkop Management Accounting Review (AMAR) respects the privacy of authors, reviewers, editors, registered users, readers, and others who interact with the journal. This statement explains how information may be collected, used, disclosed, protected, retained, and corrected in connection with scholarly publishing.

Our privacy commitment

AMAR processes personal and journal information only where reasonably necessary for submission management, editorial assessment, peer review, publication, post-acceptance administration, research integrity, technical operation, security, preservation, recordkeeping, and official journal communication. AMAR does not sell personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties for commercial marketing purposes.

01

Information Collected & How It Is Used

Depending on an individual's role and interaction with AMAR, information may include names, email addresses, institutional affiliations, countries, ORCID iDs, research interests, reviewer expertise, user-account details, professional profiles, correspondence, and other information reasonably required for legitimate journal operations.

For manuscript processing, AMAR may also handle submissions and associated files, title-page information, authorship and CRediT contribution details, funding disclosures, conflicts of interest, acknowledgements, ethics and consent statements, permissions, generative AI disclosures, Data Availability Statements, supplementary files, reviewer reports, editorial decisions, revisions, and production records.

This information may be used to administer submissions and peer review, evaluate manuscripts, communicate editorial decisions, prepare accepted articles for publication, manage DOI registration and scholarly metadata, support indexing and preservation, address research-integrity concerns, administer applicable publication fees or waivers, maintain platform security, and preserve an accurate scholarly record.

02

Published Scholarly Metadata

Once an article is published, information such as author names, affiliations, ORCID iDs, article titles, abstracts, keywords, funding details, contributor information, publication dates, volumes, issues, DOIs, licenses, and citation details may become part of the public scholarly record.

Published metadata may be supplied to DOI registration agencies, indexing and discovery services, scholarly databases, libraries, repositories, academic search engines, citation services, metadata aggregators, and long-term preservation systems. This dissemination supports discoverability, attribution, citation, provenance, and the integrity of the scholarly record.

03

Peer Review & Confidentiality

AMAR uses a double-anonymous (double-blind) peer-review process. Manuscript files, identifying title-page details, reviewer identities, review reports, editorial correspondence, deliberations, and other non-public material must be treated as confidential, subject to the journal's authorized editorial procedures.

Editors, reviewers, and authorized journal personnel must not disclose or exploit confidential manuscript information for unauthorized personal, professional, commercial, competitive, or research purposes. Unpublished manuscripts, confidential data, identifying information, reviewer reports, and editorial correspondence must not be uploaded to external generative AI services or other automated tools unless appropriate confidentiality, data protection, authorization, and responsible handling can be assured.

04

Data Sharing, Authorized Access & Security

Information may be accessible to authorized editors, reviewers, journal personnel, production staff, technical administrators, hosting and publishing-service providers, and scholarly infrastructure providers where such access is reasonably necessary for legitimate journal activities. Information may also be disclosed when necessary to investigate research-integrity concerns or comply with applicable legal obligations.

AMAR is published by Yayasan Vifada Cendikia Indonesia in collaboration with Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi (STIE) AMKOP Makassar. The journal and those responsible for its technical operations seek to apply reasonable organizational and technical measures to reduce unauthorized access, loss, alteration, and misuse. No internet-based system can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their login credentials and report suspected unauthorized account access or data exposure.

05

Technical Data & Journal Platform Use

The journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and its hosting environment may process technical data such as browser and device characteristics, IP addresses, access times, session identifiers, authentication activity, cookies, and server or error logs. Such data may be needed for account access, session continuity, technical troubleshooting, journal administration, fraud prevention, service reliability, and website security.

Technical information is handled for journal and platform purposes, subject to applicable retention arrangements and service-provider practices. Users may manage certain browser cookies or privacy preferences through their own devices, although disabling essential cookies may affect login and other journal functions.

06

Post-Acceptance & Publication Data

Following final editorial acceptance, AMAR may verify and process information required for copyediting, proofreading, publication production, metadata validation, DOI registration, Version-of-Record preparation, indexing, preservation, and long-term maintenance of published articles. This may include author identities and affiliations, ORCID iDs, CRediT contributions, funding and conflict-of-interest disclosures, acknowledgements, Data Availability Statements, ethics and consent information, generative AI declarations, licensing information, and other appropriate publication metadata.

Where applicable, article processing charge (APC) or waiver status, invoices, and payment records may also be processed for post-acceptance financial administration. Financial administration is separate from scientific peer review and editorial decision-making. Any fees are governed by the journal's published APC policy.

07

Retention, Access & Correction

Personal, editorial, administrative, technical, and publication information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for journal operation, legitimate recordkeeping, research integrity, security, preservation, and the continued reliability of the scholarly record, subject to applicable legal and institutional requirements.

Individuals may contact AMAR to request correction of inaccurate account or personal information, or to raise reasonable privacy concerns. Requests will be considered in light of appropriate editorial, security, contractual, legal, preservation, and research-integrity obligations. Information that forms part of the published scholarly record may not always be suitable for removal. Where necessary, the journal may address matters through a correction, editorial notice, Expression of Concern, retraction, or other transparent publication record.

08

External Scholarly Services

The AMAR website may provide links to ORCID, DOI registries, scholarly databases, indexing and discovery systems, academic repositories, institutional websites, citation services, and other external resources. Those providers have their own terms, technical practices, and privacy notices. This statement addresses information processed through AMAR's journal operations; it does not independently govern unrelated third-party services.

09

Policy Updates & Contact

This Privacy Statement takes effect when published on the official AMAR journal website. It may be amended as editorial workflows, journal infrastructure, publishing services, security practices, legal requirements, and metadata-management arrangements change. Updates do not retrospectively erase or invalidate legitimate editorial decisions, published research, or scholarly records created under earlier applicable policies.
